There is no question about it, at times we all experience burnout. What we don't always realize is the stress of it can cause health problems. Job burnout is usually a result of being exhausted physically, mentally, and emotionally from your job. Burnout can also have emotional effects on your thinking. You may feel like you can do nothing right, this can result in low self esteem. You may feel job dissatisfaction, or out of control in your own life, resulting in a lack of motivation or sever anxiety. Do you feel alone or detached from people? Overly frustrated with your position in life. If you feel like any of this describes how you are feeling you could be suffering from job burnout.

Everyone interprets stress in different ways. One worker might feel that the demands of the job are completely reasonable, while yet another may feel overwhelmed. This could be for various reasons. One might have more responsibilities at home, or have experienced a traumatic event in the last year, you never know burnout is unique to the individual. There are many ways to cope with the problem of burnout. For most just a vacation, a chance for rejuvenation is all that is needed. By taking the time needed you may find that your stress level might decrease dramatically leaving you ready for your return to work. Other things you can do is to not work overtime, working long hours with little or no breaks might be what is depleting your energy. We are not super human and should not expect unreasonable tasks out of ourselves. Also try working on bettering your relationships with everyone you work with. A better work environment means a happier you. Make your work environment more like home bring pictures, or posters of interest, if allowed. Brighten your work space. Take small breaks during the day, maybe go out into the sunlight and breath. Do not be afraid to say no to tasks that might over whelm you. Delegate tasks. Prioritize your life at work and at home them ask your family for help. Explain to them your dilemma. Communication can help keep peace at home and reduce unwanted stress. Sometimes just learning simple techniques to cope with stress.
