Hello and welcome to Stress-Affects-Health.com. My name is Brenda Hoddinott, my husband Phillip and I are hoping that you will find what you are looking for from this site. Here's why: Well let’s start at the beginning. Some years ago my husband and I went through a very traumatic event that changed our outlook on health for the rest of our lives. We decided as a young couple to have a baby to complete our little family. From the beginning our daughter had health problems and her quality of life was very poor. We won’t go into great detail, but her health condition caused her to spend the greater half of her life in the hospital. When she was not in the hospital she was in and out of the doctors office for tests. There was no diagnosis for the condition she had, which meant there was no cure. She suffered a lot, and when she was 20 months old she died. It is needless to say that during the pregnancy with all the complications, those 29 months our lives were full of stress, pain, and anxiety. During that time we searched for anything that would relieve us of the stress we were under. Most times we were misdirected and our efforts failed. To tell you the truth my husband and I went to the pharmacy and grocery store a lot to find a supplement, vitamin, anything that would help us. Through all the trauma my husband and I did not realize that our health had suffered in the mean time. This trauma left us with so many of the symptoms of stress. We learned that the symptoms were contributing to our health problems. We had nowhere to turn and we were confused. A good friend of mine who was in the health and wellness consulting business started to coach me and help me to understand the steps my husband and I needed to take. This was liberating! We were getting healthier, even though we were still grieving we were feeling better then we did before. Phillip and I talked about it and realized with our new found knowledge we could help other people the same way our friend helped us. This appealed to us greatly because we had witnessed in the hospital so many parents and family members of sick and dying children that were suffering from the same symptoms of stress. This started our mission. We made it our plan to help people that are undergoing stress of various levels. Stress-Affects-Health.com is a resource that we hope will help no matter what you are going through. We are determined to help you in your time of need. We were there ourselves. We want to deliver the information you need to reduce your stress levels, and the ill effects it has on your health. So you can be healthier and have a better quality of life. In the pages of this site you will see the common thread of Identify, Manage, Prevent. These actions we believe are the most effective way to deal with stress. The pages contain thoughts on mental and physical actions to take to put the common thread into application in your life. Always consult your physician with any health care changes you might want to make. We need to give credit where credit is due.
